The little problems that drag on, fixed once and for all.

A dripping faucet, a running toilet, a drain leaking under the sink. We come see, trace it back to the cause, and repair with materials we can guarantee.

Plumber repairing the trap under a kitchen sink
Sound familiar?

It's been going on for months, and you've gotten used to it.

  • The faucet drips, and you've stopped hearing it.
  • The toilet refills on its own in the middle of the night.
  • There's a bucket under the sink, and it's been there a good while.
  • Hot water takes forever to reach the bathroom.
  • A pipe froze last winter and you're crossing your fingers for this one.

None of these problems is urgent, and that's exactly why they drag on. A faucet cartridge costs a few dollars; the same faucet ignored for two years ends up swelling the countertop, and then it's no longer a plumbing part being replaced.

An ordinary week

Here's what we repair most often. Nothing spectacular, and that's a good thing.

Residential plumbing isn't job sites: it's a handful of fixtures that wear out at the same pace in every house. Here are the four that come back week after week, and what's behind them.

A dripping faucet

Almost always a worn cartridge or seal, not the whole faucet. We repair before replacing: it's faster and costs a fraction of the price.

A toilet that runs nonstop

The flapper no longer seals and the tank refills on a loop. It's the quietest leak in a house: you don't hear it, but it shows up on the water bill.

A sink that won't drain

Hair, soap, toothpaste: the trap closes in on itself. We take it apart rather than pour in a product that attacks the pipe as much as the clog.

A poorly insulated wall, an open crawl space, and January does the rest. We thaw, we repair, then we look at why that pipe froze, otherwise it will freeze again.

How it goes

One visit, and you know where you stand.

  1. 01

    You describe what you see

Since when, how often, what's already been tried. We often know what to bring before we even leave.

  2. 02

We give you the applicable rates

Before hitting the road, not when we arrive at your door. You decide with full knowledge.

  3. 03

We look for the cause, not the symptom

A leak rarely shows up where it starts. We trace it back to the source before suggesting anything.

  4. 04

    We repair before replacing

When a part will do, we put in a part. When the fixture is done, we say so and explain why.

  5. 05

    We leave the place clean

What was done, what to watch for, and the place tidied the way we found it.

The price

Nobody can quote this over the phone. Here's what we can tell you anyway.

  • What's countedWorking time, at the hourly rate. Our plumbers are paid from the moment they leave the office until they return: a call in Sutton doesn't cost what it costs in Farnham.
  • What gets addedThe materials installed, billed separately. Our rates also follow CMMTQ adjustments, like everyone else's in the trade.
  • What costs nothingThe call. Describe the situation: we give you the applicable rates before heading out, and there will be nothing new on the invoice.

We'd rather tell you now than have you find out on the invoice.

What we won't do

We turn down some requests. Always for your own good.

  • Install a fixture bought elsewhere: no valid warranty, no replacement parts.
  • Replace a fixture that only needs a part.
  • Promise a firm price before seeing what's going on.
  • Open a wall at random hoping to land on the leak.

The materials we install come from us, they're warrantied, and their replacement parts can be found. That's what lets us guarantee our work, and it's what your insurer will look at the day there's damage.

Frequently asked questions

Residential repairs, in five questions.

It depends on two things: the time spent at your home and the distance travelled. Our plumbers are paid from the moment they leave the office until they return, so a call at the far end of the region doesn't cost the same as one in Farnham. Our rates also follow CMMTQ adjustments. Call us and describe the situation: we give you the applicable rates before heading out.

No, and it's to protect you. A part bought just anywhere often has no valid warranty and no replacement parts, and your insurer may refuse to cover the installation in case of damage. We supply quality, warrantied materials at a fair price, and we guarantee what we install.

We repair whenever possible: most dripping faucets only need a cartridge, and most running toilets only need a flapper. We only suggest a replacement when the part no longer exists, when the fixture is done, or when the repair would just push the same bill back six months.

It's preferable, at least at the start: nobody knows the house like you do, and what you've noticed often guides the diagnosis. After that, if you have to leave, we agree up front on what's authorized and on what we call you about before doing.

We work in Brome-Missisquoi and Haute-Yamaska, from Farnham. If your town isn't on our list, ask anyway: we'll tell you honestly whether we go that far.
